 Belle Vernon Ministerium

The Belle Vernon Area Ministerium is made up of clergy from all denominations in the area. These clergy meet monthly to plan community-wide ecumenical services and to discuss and act on issues that are important to the community. The Ministerium offers a Thanksgiving Service on Thanksgiving Eve; a service of Lessons and Carols on the Third Sunday of Advent; Liturgy & Lunch on the Wednesdays of Lent; and two Good Friday Services - a preaching service from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m., and a Tenebrae Service in the evening.

This year the Ministerium held special Liturgy & Lunch services on Wednesdays in October to bring the community together in prayer concerning the substance abuse problem plaguing our community.

The Ministerium also offers a free meal on Thanksgiving Day and runs the Rostraver Food Bank, which provides food for over 200 families each month.

 Lenten Liturgy & Lunch Schedule

The Belle Vernon Ministerium will again sponsor a series of Lenten Midday Services on Wednesdays during Lent. All Services begin at Noon, followed by a soup luncheon. Everyone in the community is welcome to attend.

 Rostraver Food Pantry

Volunteers Needed
The Rostraver Food Pantry is in need of your help! On the third Thursday of every month, food is distributed to needy families in our area. This is done in coordination with the Westmoreland County Food Bank at Fells United Methodist Church. Our need is for volunteers that can help carry groceries to cars. Hours are from 8 AM until Noon.  Please join the St. Sebastian team to help end hunger in our area!

Thank you for the generous contribution of your time!  Contact Christy Cabaniss in the Parish Office with any questions or for additional information.

 Thanksgiving Day Friendship Dinner

The Belle Vernon Area Ministerium will sponsor a turkey dinner on Thanksgiving Day from 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m., in St. Sebastian Parish Hall. Dinner is open to the community. There is no charge for this dinner.

The Thanksgiving Dinner is also always in need of volunteers.  We set-up, serve, and clean up the dinner.  It is a joy to have so many community volunteers come to share fellowship and feasting for this day.  Please contact Christy Cabaniss in the Parish Office with any questions or for additional information.
